I hail from the stupidest town in the north:

Cold, snow creates chaos
'No one expected it to be this bad.'

It wasn't even a half an inch, you dumbasses! If you'd just shown a little bit of forethought, there wouldn't have been so many problems!

Some highlights from the article:

"Although about only a tenth of an inch of snow dusted the roads, that was all it took for freezing temperatures to do their worst, meteorologists said.

'Snow-covered, slippery roads and accidents everywhere - all over the county,' said dispatcher Lori Taylor of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. 'How many calls do you think we've had today? Hundreds.'

Although many county roads were pre-treated Wednesday, crews had little time to prepare for such a snowfall, said Chris Petrocy, spokesman for the Butler County Engineer's Office."

SUCH a snowfall. A tenth of an inch.

Cincinnati is teh dumb.

You should've seen Halifax on Monday for our first snow of the year. Christ, you'd think it snowed on Orlando or something.

When I left the Dayton Mall area yesterday morning at around 6:15a it was just starting to come down heavy . 675 started to get bad, and by the time I got to Brandt Pike in huber, I was sliding all over the place. Took me an hour to get home. Wasn't much snow, roads were treated but still very hazardous in Huber. I hate driving in the snow. Would have been fine if I wasn't surrounded by sliding school busses. BAH ON SNOW I SAY!!!

ahahahahahaha. It's so frustrating and funny at the same time.

Although many county roads were pre-treated Wednesday = sand, what great traction :P

It wasn't the snow. It was the damn ice. And Cinci is quite hilly. I don't want to be sliding down a hill in my car, with no way to stop.

Dayton was bad too. I-675 had slow spots near the Indian Ripple Rd. and Col. Glenn Hwy. exits. Even though I left home for work at 8:15, I didn't get in until 10:00.

Believe it or not, these are the times I miss winters in Buffalo.

Holy bats, you aren't kidding. A few errant flakes and the entire city grinds to a halt. I blame the newscasters at least in part because their mantra the other morning was "it's terrible!". Let's tone down the doomsday babble and be reasonable: drive safely, leave early, stay alert and everything will be ok.
Buncha lemmings.
