Feeling much better today, though still full of phlegm ;-p

I slept 14 hours last night and spent most of the early part of the day on the couch. Around 2pm I showered and got dressed and drove to Columbus. I met my sister at her apartment because she wanted to hear the "clicking noise" that was apparently what the urgent care docs had heard Thursday night that led them to think pneumonia. She couldn't find it, so I guess I am getting better. Or she just sucks with a stethoscope ;-p Also, I am not a cat.

We met my dad at Akai Hana for dinner. YUM JAPANESE FOOD. Their sushi is pretty good, but maybe I'm just loyal to Sake, but they really do have some of the best sushi I've tried. I also had a salmon teriyaki appetizer and a shrimp tempura appetizer. YUM. I had to dine and dash and leave my dad with the bill, though ^^;; Because I was late to see....

SPAMALOT!! This show is part of a four-show-package deal I bought myself for my birthday. I got to my seat about 2 minutes before the show started. EXCELLENT seat, row D, left center. I was hoping it would be THE seat, but as soon as I saw it wasn't an aisle seat I knew it wouldn't be. I was seat D121 and THE seat was D101. SO CLOSE!!

The show was just as good as when I saw it last year. The cast was fantastic. I much much MUCH preferred the current Lady of the Lake to the one we saw last year. The one last year sang from her throat too much. The one tonight was excellent.

I was surprised by how short the show was; with intermission it was just about two hours. I guess I'm more used to Wicked's 2 hour and 45 minute running time. ^_^

Speaking of Wicked, only [livejournal.com profile] thepookey and [livejournal.com profile] kerinda wanted to go with me in January, right? Because tickets go on sale IN THE NEXT WEEK, so I need to know who's going!!
Several hours and one chest x-ray later, I do not have pneumonia. But I do have narcotic cough syrup!

The doctors said they heard something in my lower chest that they thought might be pneumonia. While waiting for the radiology tech, mom and I discussed the possibilities:

Me: Pneumonia!

Mom: You've never had pneumonia before.

Me: How can I have never had pneumonia?

Mom: I've never had pneumonia!

Me: Well then what was that really bad thing I had when I was a kid?

Mom: That was Scarlet Fever.

Me: Scarlet Fever. Who gets that anymore? That's like getting polio or something.

However the x-ray showed no pneumonia, so they left me with my hydrocodone cough syrup and instructions to see my doctor Monday if I'm not any better.

The cough syrup is wonderful, but oooo, hydrocodone makes me ill. I woke up at 4am when the first dose wore off and I desperately needed more; my throat was on fire.

I made it to the bottom of the stairs all right, but once I got to the living room my body was like "Ok, we need to be lying down now," and my legs pretty much gave out and I collapsed. I lay there for about 5-10 minutes in a daze until I felt I could make my way to the kitchen. Fun fun.

I came in to work late today, feeling like death warmed over. I didn't want to come in at all, but I need the hours :-( I don't want to use my sick time or my comp time.
I'm so very tired and so very manic. I barely slept at all last night.

I finally upped my dosage of Topamax today. Hopefully I can sleep tonight.

Last night was Carlette's first night working at the library. We had a lot of fun working together. We laughed so much. We're pretty funny. I wish we could work together all the time. I like to talk about Carlette in my journal because she is just so cool.

My car is getting its 120,000 mile service today, so I get to drive my mom's brand new Hybrid! *pets the shiny*

The strength training I've been doing combined with the rain has really aggravated my tendonitis ;_;
I am skipping French class right now parce que je suis malade. I would have skipped all my classes today, except I had a presentación oral en mi clase de español, so I couldn't skip that class. Now I'm here, and I really need to get my journal back in lit class, so I'll stay for that. Really, I was just too malade last night to do my homework for French class. So I'm skipping. And feeling ill. And going to take a nap in a minute. BLAH GENERAL MALAISE.
I felt like crappola last night and went to sleep at 8pm. I'd stopped at Kroger on my way home from work and picked up some Theraflu. Antihistimines = Pennysleepnow! But I forgot that my Zyrtec-D is also a decongestant, so I kinda double-dosed myself. Oops.

I slept soundly until 2am, when I woke up and fixed myself another dose of Theraflu. I could feel the antihistimine, but I couldn't get all the way to sleep, so I just dozed from about 5am-9am.

I woke up with a mission: I needed a humidifier, and I needed it NOW. My throat and nose were bone dry, the cats are full of static electricity; I've been putting it off too long.

Unfortunately, there was about 2 inches of snow outside, and the roads were not plowed or treated. Blah. I got dressed and ventured out anyway. This was my first time driving the Camry in real snow. It handles so much better than the little manual-drive Mazda! There were several points along the drive where I thought to myself, "Yep, that's where the Mazda would have gotten stuck. That's where it would have been over for me."

I made it to and from Target safely. I wasn't sure which kind of humidifier I was going to buy until I saw it. Yes, I'm willing to admit I may have a problem. It's so cute! ^_^ I also picked up some Airborne.

I came home, ran the humidifier for about an hour, took a dose of Airborne, and I have to admit I'm feeling a lot better. Still a lot of drainage, which is ucky, but much less general malaise. Here's hoping I've fought off whatever I was coming down with.
Ugh, I think I'm getting sick.

And I'm working all day today and tomorrow.

And I still have not received my insurance cards for my crappy student health insurance.

Woe.
Thursday [livejournal.com profile] suraimu and [livejournal.com profile] xoraclex came over to help me with moving and painting. Rob helped move heavy stuff and run errands. Carlette helped PAINT and unpack!! And she drank mint water. Whatever.

There are now apartment pictures on the Flickr.

I live here!!

Last night was the fifth annual Penny's Benihana Birthday Dinner. I love going to Benihana for my birthday. I love BANANA TEMPURA. OMG. I had several of my good friends join me, including [livejournal.com profile] box_o_kittens, [livejournal.com profile] xoraclex, [livejournal.com profile] octavialuna, [livejournal.com profile] kerinda, [livejournal.com profile] suraimu, [livejournal.com profile] ta2dmrm8, [livejournal.com profile] lthrlvr71, their friend Sherri, and my cousin Jenny.

I decided the best course of action for going to an expensive dinner would be to forget my purse at home. WFT is wrong with me?! I'm so forgetful lately! Carlette came to my rescue and fronted me the money for my dinner. THANK YOU!!!!

The chef made everyone sing happy birthday to me, and later on the waitress did as well. So I got sung to twice, which was fine with me. They also made me a wacky balloon hat, and I got an official polaroid. They started doing poloroids of birthday parties in 2004, so now I have three of them ^_^

The food was mostly delicious. Because of the way they'd layed the plates out, there ended up being an extra "bonus" plate of food that we shared around, and yet did not get charged for. Awesome. There was some drama over me not getting my damned steamed rice though. I need my steamed rice! When it finally came, it was overcooked and chewy :-\ The banana tempura made up for it, though. The entire reason I go to Benihana over any other Japanese restaurant is the banana tempura. OMG IT IS HEAVEN. I only get it once a year on my birthday, and I look forward to it every year!

I got some KICKASS presents! Lisa gave me a hand-painted bowl with chopstick rests. It is BEAUTIFUL, and I love that she created it herself ^_^ Everyone else gave me thoughtful and extremely awesome presents, and I'm so grateful to them. Thank you!!!

After dinner a few of us decided to go to Graeters. I can't believe V had never had Graeters before! I think she's a convert now ^_^ Lisa and I skipped ice cream, because FULL OF TEMPURA, but everyone else shared tastes of theirs. We just sat and talked, and it was so nice to have so many of my friends together.

Birthday pictures are also on the Flickr.

I was developing a headache by the time we left the restaurant, and on the way home an hour and a half later it had developed into a screamer. I took some ibuprofen and got into bed and whimpered until I fell asleep. I hate screamers. I haven't had one in a long time, but they're just unbearable.

I feel better this morning, but there's still a headache lurking, waiting to pounce again. I need more ibuprofen. I'm at work until 5. TIME AND A HALF, YAY.

My birthday is actually on Tuesday. I have to work, and then I'm going to see Spamalot with [livejournal.com profile] box_o_kittens and [livejournal.com profile] ladyoceanstar!!
