Today Carlette and Nick and I had a Fabulously Fun Snow Day.

I Sat on the couch until around noon, and then I decided we needed to go sledding. I went over to their place where they were watching the MST3K "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians." We watched for a bit, but then I persuaded them to come join me for a sled adventure.

First we had to procure sleds. Carlette only had one, and it was one of those crappy roll-up versions. We went to the nearby Ace Hardware where they had exactly one plastic saucer sled, two plastic two-person sled, and one inflatable saucer sled. We bought one of each.

Then we made a detour home so they could Suit Up.

THEN THERE WAS SLEDDING. We went to Rosewood Arts Center in Kettering, where they have a Giant Hill of Death.

My plastic saucer sled enjoyed turning me backwards, so my every pass down the hill involved me going down backwards, looking over my shoulders and screaming "AAAA! TREE!!!" or "AAA!! GIANT SWAMP PUDDLE!!" and desperately trying to stop the sled before I died.

Carlette's inflatable saucer ripped on her second pass down a hill. It was way lame.

For our very last sled, Nick and I went down the hill in the two-person sled, caught a bit of air on the way down, and sailed through the giant swamp puddle. It was simultaneously hilarious and terrifying.

We came home, where we made cookies and hot chocolate. And ate cookie dough.

And then we sat down on comfy couches and watched the MST3K Waffle Episode because Nick had never seen it, and it's my very favorite episode. Then Nick decided we needed to watch Manos Hands of Fate. Goddamn that is a bad movie.

After the movie we went out for sushi, which if you know me at all you know I loved. We drove by the Patterson Homestead, which is apparently haunted and Carlette wants us to go ghost hunting there next month.
I hosted a pretty successful clothing swap this afternoon. Sadly, I now have a REALLY empty closet.

Everyone went home with some clothes, which was good. I got some new tops and a nice new pair of jeans. I've been NEEDING new tops because all of mine are too big.

After everyone left, Carlette and I went out for sushi. I've been craving sushi for over a week, and I finally gave in to it. SO GOOD. I stuffed myself overfull and now I have heartburn ;-p

I'm stunned by my lack of things-to-do for the next three months. Whoa! School is over! I made it through my first year at Wright State! ^_^ Not all my grades are in yet...my Shakespeare teacher is making me sweat.

I've got a few projects in mind for the summer. Besides work and working out, I've got a new paint-by-number set (I've worked on a different paint-by-number for the last three summers. Not finished, but worked on...), and I've decided to learn to make bento lunches. I'll share pictures here if they come out well.

And of course, I also have to keep up with my French and Spanish so I won't fall behind in the fall!
I need sushi.

I am stressed ;_; I keep remembering things I've forgotten to do...

This mystery shopping company can just fire me, because it's getting to be not worth the extra $54 a month for the hassle they put me through. Now the guy in charge of my account wants me to go to frickin' Bellefontaine for a measley $10. "Well, you've done it before," he whines. Yes, when I a) lived in Springfield and it was only 35 minutes away instead of an hour and a half and b) the previous guy in charge of the account offered me more money for it! This guy never offers to raise the pay rate. Fuck him. I am not going to Bellefontaine for what is essentially $8.90 after my mandatory purchase when gas is $2.79.

I have two days to read The Merchant of Venice and I haven't even started it.

I have a French test tomorrow. Not worried about it, but I haven't done the workbook exercises that are due, and I do need to study the vocabulary. So I have to do all of that today.

So that's why I'm up at 5am. Stress does not a sound sleeper make.

Carlette, Nick, and I went to Sake for dinner last night. It was yum. I had been having a serious sushi craving because people had been mentioning sushi around me all week. I had my usual unagi and crispy tuna rolls, but I also tried the eel rolls and found them to be delicious. I am still stuffed and I have much leftovers in the fridge for food today.
Last night I emailed Carlette and told her we needed to get our karaoke on, as it had been far too long. We went to the usual Wednesday night karaoke place, but our favorite host, Nancy Sell was not there! She's cutting back her late-night hours apparently, and stopped doing Wednesday night karaoke. So the guy who normally does Sunday night karaoke was there, and he SUCKED. His music sucked. He didn't know how to work his own equipement. It wasn't fun.

I sang "Like a Prayer," but the screen was rolling the whole time, and by the end of the song I was feeling nauseous. Carlette sang "Bring Me Some Water," but he didn't turn off the vocal track, so it was like she was singing along to the CD. Lame. We left disappointed, but with plans to go see Nancy on Monday night.

I came back to Carlette's for a bit, but then I was tired and came home and read my newest Inu-Yasha book and went to bed.

I woke up the next morning and went downstairs to get a pill. I noticed it was freezing downstairs. What the hell? Oh, my back door is wide open. That's lovely. VERY luckily the cats were still inside, all my possessions were still inside, and I'm still alive.

I went back upstairs and dozed until Carlette called me for my "official" wake-up call. We each hopped into our respective showers and then set off for our Day of Fun!

But then tragedy struck. Carlette needed to call Planned Parenthood to make an appointment for a check up. You know, because they have other services than just killing babies. She couldn't get 411 to work on her phone, so I lent her mine. The 411 operator connected her to a church! I was so outraged. I grabbed the phone back, called 411, and demanded to speak to a supervisor. I explained what happened and the woman said that she would credit the call. I stated that I felt what the operator had done was extremely inappropriate, and I felt that the supervisor needed to speak with her about it. Silence on the other end. I repeated my statement in slightly different wording. Silence on the other end. I asked her if she heard me, and then she gets attitude and starts getting uppity with me. I bitched right back at her and told her I was done with the conversation. But OOOO, I was so pissed! You should try calling and asking 411 for the number for Planned Parenthood and see what they do.

Finally we got to the mall to get our hairs cut. I just wanted to trim off my split ends; I'm growing my hair out to donate it as part of my Mission 101. My hair needs to be between 8-10 inches to donate, and the stylist told me that my hair was right at 8 inches, so I could have cut it all off and donated it today. The thought was really tempting and exciting. But I decided to just get the split ends cut off and then grow it back out to a full length. Carlette got a really cute new style that is not too short ^_^

We went to the arcade to play DDR. We only played four rounds because we were getting sweaty and hungry. I tried on some jeans at Deb's, but I didn't like them.

Then we went to SAKE for lunch. *choir of angels singing* I <3 that place so much! Oh, the rice! Oh, the sushi! Oh, the ginger ginger ginger!! Oh, the j-pop from 1999 that brings me right back to the good ol' VA days! ^_~ Yum!!

While we were browsing Half-Price Books after dinner, work called me in early. You know I don't mind going to work. So here I am.
The show yesterday went wonderfully. The audience was much more reactive last night than they were Friday night. I live for the audience; their laughter, cheers, applause, it feeds me.

[livejournal.com profile] xoraclex and her boyfriend Nick came to see the show last night, as did [livejournal.com profile] estllechauvelin. Thank you guys for coming out!!

Carlette, Nick, and I had planned to go to Sake after the show. OMG, JAPANESE FOOD! Rice = love. But by the time the show ended, there was maybe 3/4 of an inch to an inch of wet, wet snow on the ground, and it was still snowing heavily. It was the wettest snow I've seen in a long time! I was drenched by the time I got to the car.

The roads were terrible, and we couldn't make it to Sake :-( Sad Penny-face :-( Instead we went to Mimi's Cafe, since it was closer. And Nick paid, so that was all right ^_~

Today the call is at 5pm. I just woke up, so I have approximately four and a half hours to dedicate to homework before I have to get ready to leave.
On my way home from school, I thought How wonderful it would be if one of my bumper sticker orders came in today?

Then I got home and they were both there!!

Pimp my carz, yo.

Sweet. ^_^

I took a three-hour nap, until my sister woke me up at 5pm. Since I use my phone as my alarm clock, I was incredibly disoriented. I couldn't figure out for a few minutes that it was still Friday afternoon.

Carlette and I went to I-Zu for dinner. It was pretty good, but they didn't have ginger sauce for my rice. So I took the rice home and put my own ginger sauce on it. DELICIOUS.
