So, the phone posts are a tad fuzzy. I just switched my default to .ogg instead of .wav, hopefully that will help in the future.
Kelly. Love. Platinum blonde Kelly. Not so much love for. She looks like a chubby Jessica Simpson. (Kelly is not at all "fat," she's very skinny. But she is hip-y and she has a round face. HOTT.)
Opening band sucked. I went out in the lobby and read.
Interesting mix of crowd. Hip 20-30 somethings, and parents with their children.
Set List;
Since "You" Been Gone
Walk Away
Gone (LOVE LOVE LOVE!!)
Low
Just Missed the Train
At this point the band played a You Found Me instrumental bit while Kelly rushed offstage to change clothes, and they brought in a more intimate setting for the instruments. Kelly introduced the next three songs as the "blues portion."
What's Up Lonely
Thankful
Trouble With Love Is
Don't (song she wrote on her last tour. LOVED it. "Don't say you want me. Don't say you miss me. Don't hurt me. My heart can't take it.")
Piece of My Heart (Janis Joplin cover)
I'm the Only One (Melissa Etheridge cover)
The Thrill is Gone (BB King cover)
Sweet Dreams (Eurythmics cover) - ROCKED...mmmm...electric violin...
Beautiful Disaster (guitar and violin accompiament only)
Addicted
Because of You
Where is Your Heart
Behind These Hazel Eyes
Miss Independent
ENCORE
A Moment Like This (a really rocking version)
Breakaway (guitar and violin only) She signed autographs the entire time she was singing this song, so she sounded distracted.
Overall: WELL worth the time and money. It was a great show. I'm really glad I got to see her again. Sad she didn't do "Hear Me" or "Anytime."
After the show I met up with my dad for a late nosh. We were going to go to Texas Roadhouse, but they closed at 10pm! So did Skyline! Fuckers. Prejudiced against Nocternal Americans, dammit. We ended up at Perkins. Mmmm....french silk pie...
