Today is the "Day of Silence". I may or may not write anything else today, except my reactions to this event.

I have a piece of paper that says:

April 13, 2005 - Day of Silence

Please understand my reasons for not speaking today. I am participating in the Day of Silence, a national youth movement protestng the silence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their allies. My deliberate silence echoes that silence, which is caused by harassment, prejudice, and discrimination. I believe that ending the silence is the first step toward fighting these injustices. Think about the voices you are not hearing today.

What are you going to do to end the silence?

I wrote an article about the Day of Silence for the campus paper... while I could not observe it (Wednesday is the day when we get EVERYTHING done, plus I had to interview a professor for another article I'm doing) I did get the message out to anyone at RSC who reads the 15th Street News that the Day of Silence happened in the big, bad world and our conservative campus was NOT involved, SHAME ON THEM.

So, there's that. ^^
