Some Hamentaschen are filled with preserves (raspberry preserves or orange marmalade seem to be the most common) and sometimes they are filled with a poppy seed filling (which I never cared for). They are flaky and yummy! :)

As I was telling Dave yesterday, I'm working all day today :-( I suggested maybe dinner or late lunch after classes on Monday? I really want to get together with you guys!

I also mentioned in the vm that I won't be able to carpool since I currently have my dad's car, and I have to drive it back to Cincinnati for him. So I'm just going to stay in Cincy overnight.

mmmm hamantaschen... i haven't had that since i was a kid and dressed up as a noisemaker for the purim parade. no, i didn't want to be queen esther like every other girl, i wanted to be a big spray painted cardboard box with a crank on it

but i got people to touch my crank ;)

In elementary school we made hamentaschen with sugar cookie dough cut into circles, then put in chocolate chips or jam, folded up the sides and baked!

Not the classiest hamentaschen, but very easy!
