I have a job interview tomorrow for some healthcare company in Tricounty. The HR person said they have a few data entry positions open that are part time second shift, but they can only pay $7 an hour. My mom really wants me to get this job, because it will be stable hours and probably more hours (I've been working a max of 12-15 hours a week). I'm really not looking forward to working a full 20 hours, plus school, plus losing that disposable income from driving. Plus Donato's is SO flexible with my schedule. If I say, "Hey, I need Wednesday and Thursday off so I can go to Louisville and Indianapolis," they say, "see you Friday." I don't think this job will be so kind.

I wanted scoping to kick off, but I sent out 30 postcards received 0 responses. I should probably send out more postcards.

I'm just worried about getting overwhelmed. I have a past record of getting REALLY overwhelmed and crashing and dropping ALL my balls, and I don't want to fail at school. There are a lot of people at school who go full time AND work full time, but me, I'm exhausted by the time I come home from class and finish my homework. I'm not sure adding more work to the mix is the best solution.

But I'll try it out. I'll go to the interview, be my dazzling self, and try to get it. We'll see.

Seven isn't much, but with parttime, it at least is far better than minimum wage. Trust me, I make seven and flux between 20-30 hours a week, it makes all the difference.

good luck on the interview!!

if you get the job, just remember it's a starting point.

you know ... i knew of a grrl who did court reporting, but took notes during surgeries (eye surgeries, i think). could be a starting point ....

*sends you good interview vibes*

*hugs* Best of luck at the interview! I'm sure you'll do great! The job would be a good thing, despite the schedule.

Direct mail has a proven success rate of 1-3%. So, 30 postcards wouldn't even get you to one at that rate. :( I'd say definitely send out more.
