Jun. 30th, 2003 04:53 pmIf thestrals can't be seen by someone unless they've watched someone die, then why couldn't Harry see them all along? His mum was killed in front of him, right? Oh well, it's a minor plot point.
I just finished the book a few hours ago. Very good, very well done.
Unlike other people I'm NOT ready for book six yet. I'd like another month or so to digest this one. But not 3 years!! Let's get to book six a little faster than that ^_^
I LOVED the part where Lee Jordan told Umbridge that she couldn't tell off Fred and George for playing Exploding Snap because it didn't deal with Defense Against Dark Arts. LOL.
I'd have liked to have seen Mrs. Weasley's reaction to Fred and George leaving school, but I suppose we'll see that next time.
Ms. Rowling, just crank out two more books, then you can relax for the rest of your life!! ;-p
I loved the way Fred and George left school. XD
Date: 2003-06-30 02:08 pm (UTC)I'm anxious for book six, but that's the way I am with a series...I get started on something and don't want to stop.
I'm currently occupying myself with fanfiction, which I guess I'll be doing for the next 3+ years, heh. ^^;;
Oh, and I love the icon. ^^

When Harry's mother was killed, Harry was still a baby. Very few babies have well enough developed memory centers to register even significant trauma at that point, and none of them have any clue what death even is ("milk and warm contact bonded source is not moving; I am scared" not being "mommy's never coming back again"). Perhaps event retention and/or at least some vague concept of what death entails is necessary for it to count as "seeing someone die."
