I just got an email update from one of my indie music folks, Brother Henry and in it they mentioned that they were getting radio play in the certain cities, and one of them was Cincinatti. Upon visiting their webpage, you can see that they've spelled it Cincinnatti. *cringes*

Why not throw in another "i" for good measure? Cincinnattii?

I'll let spelling errors go. I'll let grammer errors go. But I have to cringe when you misspell the name of my city, since it was drilled into my head as a kid, "cin-cin-nati" (said in a sing-song way).

It's not hard.

I'm not even terribly proud of this town, but seeing it spelled wrong just rubs me the wrong way.

That, or I'm really freaking tired/stressed out/scared to death and needed something else to fixate on ;-p

Yeah, I hate that too. It reminds me of in Eddie Izzard's Dress To Kill when he's spelling through. They like to spell Cincinnati so screwy it's like that. Add more T's! oh some more I's too!
Cinncinnattiiiiii? That'll work!
Oh and I had a friend in high school who moved here from San Francisco and she thought it was a fictional city made up for the tv show WKRP. :P

The Brother Henry website spelled it two different ways, well their email spelled it Cincinatti (two t's) and their web site spelled it Cincinnatti (two n's, two t's). The correct way is Cincinnati (two n's, one t) ^_^

At first they called it Cincy, but since Cincy is so Nati, they named it Cincinnati so they say
