Well, I've finally made it to $35.00.

You see, I went to Indiana University in Bloomington during 96/97. In 1997, I opened a savings account at the IU Credit Union. When I left Bloomington, I left the account sitting there with $30. The lovely people at the IU Credit Union have dutifully watched over my $30 and have sent me notices every quarter letting me know how it's doing. Over the last 6 years, I've watched it grow, pennies by pennies. It's been thrilling, truly.

This quarter, I finally reached $35.00. That's 5 free dollars right there. Yup.

If I'm going to ignore the account, I should really make a pilgramage out there and put some more money in it, so the interest will be more interesting ^_~

Where could your money be more safer than the corn fields of the Hoosier state? ^~

rather than driving the two-three hours out there, why don't you call them and see if you can mail in deposits? i've done that with both an out-of-state bank and a local credit union. every little bit counts!

Heh. Reminds me of my checking account at Berkshire Bank in Great Barrington, Massachusetts from my two years at Simon's Rock College (http://www.simons-rock.edu) that is still sitting there with like $7.43 in it, and has been since May of 1997. I feel kind of guilty by now, as more than the amount in the account has been spent in the postage to send me the monthly statements . . .
