Dec. 10th, 2003 08:37 pmThe Campaign to Repeal Article 12 Open House was very nice.
My article (as they were calling it) and picture was blown up and featured prominently on the wall. One worker kept showing it to people, saying "Look what Penny wrote!" I got to meet Cincinnati City Councilman David Crowley, and he said "So, someone on this campaign that can write." The editor of the local GLBT newspaper said he wanted to include it in next month's issue, and took a picture of me to include.
I certainly haven't done as much as some of the other people there, just a couple of canvasses and I worked election day, but because I wrote my feelings down I was getting all the attention. It made me want to do MORE work, to feel like I deserved the attention. So I took one of their wish list items (for paper towels) and I'm going to try to attend their next canvass on Sunday, the 14th, from 2-4.
