Jun. 15th, 2002 08:53 pmI spent the day at Womonfest in Dry Ridge, KY today. It's a lesbian music festival for Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. I was there as a vendor, selling Pampered Chef, and
anongrrl (Nicci) came along and sold her necklaces and artwork.
It was a pretty nice festival, it was a BEAUTIFUL day. There were at least a thousand women there. Which makes it rather disappointing that Nicci only sold 2 necklaces the whole day, and I didn't get very many bookings. But I got 2 people definetly interested, which will make back the money the booth cost.
The fest took place on a farm owned by a lesbian couple, and they had so many animals! The rabbits wouldn't let me pet them :-( But Clyde the Camel was very friendly to me. There were also goats, horses, dogs, peacocks, frogs, a rooster, an ostrich, and a zebra! Very eclectic.
It was so nice to see all the women, and there were SO many couples there. I was getting depressed :-( Since Nicci and I were sitting together, everyone prolly assumed we were a couple, even though she's straight (crazy!). And while she is very beautiful, I do not have any romantic feelings for her. LOL. It's every straight friends fear that the gay friend has a crush on them ;-)
There were lots of bands, and most of them were really good. All were local female artists. And there was a lesbian wedding! As someone who watches A Wedding Story every day on TLC, I had to watch the wedding. It was very sweet and very well done. Too bad it couldn't be legal *frowns*.
Nicci kept seeing people she knew from school, and I saw a lot of people I know from the Coming Out Group. I'm definetly going to Group on Tuesday, to hear everyones opinions of the fest.
On my way home, I was kind of disoriented, it really surprised me that not everyone around me was gay. I'd look at another car and see a man and be like "AAA!! Oh yeah."
I am now very sore, very dirty, and very tired. I'm going to take a quick soak in the tub, and go to sleep.
