One of my classemates broke down crying today in class because of her husband's abuse. It was heartbreaking - and brought back a flood of memories of my time with E. We all comforted her and let her vent, because no one in her family will listen to her. She's Indian, and the culture says she's supposed to be submissive and take it (this is from her mouth to my journal, not bashing). *sigh* Another student wants to try to draw up a plan for her to get out, but I don't know if she'll follow through. I hope she does.

What a terrible thing to have to go through. I'm glad she has you there to help her. She'll need you, especially when she does leave. It doesn't sound like her family will be much help.
