If you've already posted yours, please link to it in the comments!

Step One

--Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

--If you wish for real life things (not stories or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

--Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

--Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

--If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use—or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free—do it.

--You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf—to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not—it's your call.

--There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1. For no one who considers themself liberal or democrat to buy from amazon.com. There's plenty of other places to go, including Powells.com and barnesandnoble.com and *gasp* independent stores! Let's put our monies where our politics are. If just you buy just one gift somewhere besides amazon, I'll consider it a gift to me ^_~

2. Mix CDs. OMG, MIX CDs.

3. Icons! Icons with Veronica Mars or Buffy (specifically Willow and Tara!) Using Vienna Teng lyrics! ^_^

4. Two sugar gliders.

5. Sanity for everyone!

6. An eyebrow piercing.

7. A new digicam.

8. A coffee table.

9. To spend New Year's Eve surrounded by my friends and lots of alcohol ^_~

10. To have a stress-free quarter next year.

malanai @ livejournal . com for my address if need be.

But..what does politics have to do with Amazon? I loves it I do. Although I mostly try to acquire things locally before heading there lol

They donate a lot of money to Republican causes. Which, if you're Republican or Independent or Don't Give A Crap or Not an American, probably doesn't really matter to you. ^_^ But I have friends who are crazywackyliberal like me, and I just think their money could be better spent elsewhere. Powells.com is very liberal and barnesandnoble.com is more liberal, but still a giant corporation, which I try to avoid on principle.

Wow, I didn't know that :) I'm pretty much a Don't Give a Crap, but I don't care much for Republican causes either lol

Great, now I feel guilty for having the Amazon Visa (triple points on Amazon.com purchases!) My excuse is that I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Don't Give a Crapper... O:-)

I deliberately buy from Barnes & Noble for just that reason. Although I do leave my wishlist up on Amazon, because B&N.com doesn't seem to have any way to do that publicly- their wishlists are more like "to buy for myself eventually" lists.

Mine's here: http://girlfromsouth.livejournal.com/684997.html?mode=reply

And believe it or not I had NO IDEA about Amazon. Dammit. *crank crank* They are usually cheaper than B&N, too. Dangit! Stupid. Amazon.

Well, that's what I was kind of hoping to spread with it on my wishlist. I kept seeing all these hardcore liberals going "Spend money at Amazon," and I'm going, "Wait, what? Don't they know?" ^_~
