We learned on Thursday that we would "no longer be allowed" to test out of C202, which is Intro to Computers. It teaches basic typing and word processing. SHIT. I knew I should have taken the test last quarter, but I wasn't scheduled to take it yet, so I didn't bother. I do NOT want to pay $1000+ for a class to teach me how to type and use Word. I type 80wpm on a qwerty keyboard. I was an administrator at P&G for 2 years. I know how to type. I know how to word process. That is a waste of my money and my time.

I don't know if that's a Cincinnati branch only policy or an Academy-wide policy, but if it's a Cincinnati only policy, then I may be seriously moving to Columbus. I would quit the school altogether and just work off tapes except for 1. I wouldn't make myself work as hard and 2. I want the associates degree.

Thursday the Dean of Court Reporting walked into class and dismissed our teacher on the spot. It was so sad it was funny.

I'd REALLY like to go to Clark State in Springfield, but it would be too much of a commute, even if I lived in Columbus, and they're teaching Real Time, so I'd be way behind. Plus I'd have to buy a laptop. But at least they're a REAL college. *sigh*

In other thoughts, I'm here now in Beavercreek, OH petsitting for my friend L. I seriously considered going to the Cruxshadows concert in downtown Dayton this evening, but I made a commitment to L. to be here and watch her dogs, and they would be upset if I was gone that long. Besides, the Cruxshadows have come to Dayton before, they'll be back. I'll catch them the next time.

I slept all day. Had very weird dreams. Dreams of my parents dying :-( Now it's time to sleep again.

What did the teacher do to get terminated like that? I don't think they can do things that way, that's pretty illegal. :P That sucks about your computer class, maybe you could get other pissed off people to sign a petition and make the rule back to what it was. It's OBVIOUSLY a way for the school to rip people off with an extra class, and that's not cool. Good luck!

I heard about the Cruxshadows concert...and everyone who I've heard it from didn't see it either, and they also said that they come around so often it's ok to miss them. I've never been, but it would be fun to go.. I like what I've heard from them.

I hope you can get out of taking that class... It's silly for them to force you to take it! My sister's college made her enroll in a class like that while she's working toward her Master's degree. >_< For the court reporting associate's degree at my school, the only extra classes I would have had to take were Math 101 and English 101, but since I have a college degree (in English, no less :P), I didn't even have to take the tests to get out of them. Thank goodness~ *hates math* Anyway, if by some twist of fate you ever happen to move to Pennsylvania, CCAC (http://www.ccac.edu) has had the same teacher for decades, and she's very inspiring. We learn realtime, though.
